How does a Pawn Shop work? We lend
money on items ranging from gold and diamonds to power tools and electronics; virtually anything of value. The amount of the
loan is based upon a percentage of the value of the item(s) in question. Loans can be as low as $5 to over $1,000. Most are
in the $75 to $100 range. The customer has the choice of picking up the item within 30 days, renewing the loan, or not picking
up the item at all.
How many customers redeem their merchandise? Approximately 75% of customers pick up their merchandise. If the item is not picked up, we
add it to our inventory to be sold. There is no risk of damaging your credit if you decide that you no longer want the
merchandise. Why should we buy jewelry
from a pawn shop instead of a retail location? Jewelry prices at pawn shops are often 50% to 150% cheaper then
that of retail stores. Many retail locations buy diamonds from diamond wholesalers, who in turn buy diamonds from many locations,
including pawn shops. The only difference between buying a piece of jewelry at a pawn shop or buying at a retail location
is the reduced price at a pawn shop. What happens
if something I buy from your store doesn't work? Unlike many competing stores who offer merchandise "as-is"
we offer a 30 day warranty on most items. On tools we will demonstrate that it works properly and offer a guarantee on tools
that we cannot demonstrate in-store.
I thought pawn shops were supposed to be dimly lit, shady
places? Why is your store so bright and inviting? The myth of the dark, dirty pawn shop, crawling with criminals
is only something you see in the movies. Our store is well lit, clean and safe. We often get the compliment that our store
is the cleanest pawn shop they have ever been in. If you've never been in a pawn shop, you will be surprised.
In addition to our great selection of merchandise, you will love our customer service. Do pawn shops buy stolen items which might encourage a burglary? Absolutely not! In fact,
honest pawnbrokers cooperate with the police. All pawn shops are required to make a copy of your ID and we must send a daily
report to the police which includes every item that we have purchased. If one of the items on the reports appear to
be stolen, the police confiscate it from the pawn shop with no compensation. It would never be in anyone's best interest
for us to deal in stolen goods. Why should
I bring my merchandise to a pawn shop? Our most common pawn/sell customer is someone that is employed but needs short
term cash for an immediate bill and chooses not to borrow from friends or family. Pawn shops are much less expensive
than payday loans. It is quicker to sell or pawn something instead of waiting for other types of loan approval.
Also, this system does not cause anyone any further debt since you always have the option of just keeping the money instead
of redeeming your item. Pawn shops do not report anything to credit bureaus.
