How does a Pawn Shop work? We lend money on items ranging from gold and diamonds, to
power tools and electronics; virtually anything of value. The size of the loan ranges based upon a percentage of the value
of the item(s) in question. Loans can be as low as $5, to over $1,000, though most are in the $40 to $75 range.
The
customer then has the choice of picking up the item within 30 days, renewing the loan, or not picking up the item at all.
How many customers retain their merchandise? A little over 50% of customers bring back their
items. This means we have a huge number of repeat customers, and a bulk of our customer base are those who have done business
with us previously. It's because we work with the customers and will often hold pawned merchandise far past the due date
so that the customer can redeem their property.
Why should we buy jewelry from a pawn shop instead of
a retail location? The prices of jewelry at pawn shops is often 50% to 150% cheaper then that of retail stores.
Many retail locations buy diamonds from diamond wholesellers, who in turn buy diamonds from many locations, including pawn
shops. There is virtually no difference between buying a piece of jewelry at a pawn shop then buying a retail location, except
that a pawn shop is much, much cheaper.
What happens if something I buy from your store doesn't work? Unlike many competing stores who offer merchandise "as-is" we offer a 30 day warranty with most electronics. On
tools we will demonstrate that it works properly, and offer a guarantee on tools that we cannot demonstrate in-store.
I thought pawn shops were supposed to be dimly lit, shady places? Why is your store so bright and inviting? The myth of the dark, dirty pawn shop, crawling with criminals is only something you see in the movies. Our store is well
lit, clean, and we often get the compliment that our store is the cleanest pawn shop they have ever been in.
